JAMES P. TASTO, M.D.

Dr. James P. Tasto graduated from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and completed his Orthopaedic Residency at the Harvard Combined Program in Boston, Massachusetts. Following his internship and a general surgery residency he served as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy from 1967 through 1970. He served in Japan, South Vietnam, and Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego.

He is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery, a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as Past President of the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He is a Clinical Professor at the University of California at San Diego. Dr. Tasto is the recipient of many prestigious awards and honors including twice being awarded the Francis West Award for the Best Clinical Teacher at the University of California at San Diego Medical School. Dr. Tasto has made over 350 presentations at national and international meetings and has published over 35 articles and book chapters in the field of arthroscopy, sports medicine and orthopaedics. Dr. Tasto is considered an expert among his colleagues in sports medicine and arthroscopic Surgery.

Dr. Tasto lives in San Diego with his wife and four children. He enjoys golf, mountain biking, volleyball, writing, and traveling.

STEVEN TRADONSKY, M.D.

Dr. Dr. Steven Tradonsky completed his Orthopaedic Residency at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio and completed his Fellowship training in Sports Medicine at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He is originally from South Africa, where he completed extensive medical training before coming to the United States to pursue his training in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine.

He is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Tradonsky is the recipient of the Residents Research award during his training and has produced over 10 professional publications, scientific exhibits and presentations. He is an expert in Workers' Compensation and Injured Worker protocols.

Dr. Tradonsky lives in La Jolla; He enjoys participation in all sports, community service work, reading, travel and research.

RINA JAIN, M.D., F.R.C.S.C.

Dr. Rina Jain is originally from Canada and graduated from the University of Toronto medical school with honors in 1992. She completed a surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Toronto. She then received fellowship training in total joint reconstruction at the University Health Network, University of Toronto, specializing in total hip and knee replacements and revisions. She was in practice at the University Health Network and then The Scarborough Hospital in Toronto prior to joining Dr. Tasto and Dr. Tradonsky at San Diego Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in December 2002.

Dr. Jain is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and has published many peer-reviewed papers. She received the Founder's Medal from the Canadian Orthopaedic Association for best research presentation and the best research poster award from the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. Her practice includes general orthopaedics and total joint replacements.

JONATHAN J. MYER, M.D.

Dr. Myer grew up here in San Diego and graduated from The Bishop's School. He received his undergraduate education in Biology at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA and attended medical school at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, P.A. Dr. Myer continued his education back east by completing his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. He returned to the west coast to complete fellowship training at the reputed Southern California Center of Sports Medicine in Long Beach, CA. Dr. Myer is fellowship trained in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic Surgery, and Knee/Shoulder Reconstruction.

Dr. Myer is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has special training and expertise in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, and knee & Shoulder Reconstruction. Dr. Myer is also a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Myer's research efforts have been published in orthopaedic journals and presented at national and international Orthopaedic meetings. He has also done editorial work as a reviewer for several orthopaedic journals. Dr. Myer has served as a team physician for several professional and collegiate athletic teams.
