In most cases, both of these typically outpatient procedures allow you to return home within a day. After the procedure, it will take some time for your elbow joint to recover. For about a week after surgery, we recommend that most patients immobilize their elbow to allow the incision to heal.

Physical therapy supports your healing for about four weeks, helping you come back stronger than ever. Total recovery lasts for about 12 weeks for most patients, so that’s when you can expect to return to your usual activities. However, your pain should start to recede sooner than that.
